Thurs. July 30 - Adobe Creative Suite Basics

  • Improve procedures for downloading, storing and formatting text and artwork from the Web.
  • Controlling frames, text blocks and photos
  • Get linked up. If your objects aren’t linked, you’re not going to make a good PDF. Plus, where to store and archive those objects. 
  • Setting up your workspace and how to customize palettes.
  • Learning basic keyboard shortcuts and how to customize your own set. 
  • Building basic styles for text and objects.
  • Let’s build an ad – putting your ad together using the above steps.

Friday. July 31 - Advance Workflow Techniques

  • Using interactive settings between programs 
  • PDF Settings. Wilma gives her favorite settings for the perfect PDF.
  • Print Presets: Set up presets that take you to the printer of your choice with one click of a button.
  • Setting up Action Buttons in Photoshop
  • Creating a robust library
  • Templates that work. Using stylesheets and setting defaults
  • Shhhh… that’s Classified. How to create good workflow with classifieds.
  • Help me if you can…. How to correct (some) problems with incoming PDFs
  • Creating company font standards – especially important for newspapers using both OS9 and OSX.
