Oklahoma Watch, a nonprofit media organization, is seeking a reporter to cover public education with a focus on in-depth and investigative reporting. The reporter should have several years of professional experience and an ability to write cleanly, report aggressively and grasp the larger context of issues. He or she should be adept at tackling long-form stories and skilled at using social media. The job requires digging for revealing news and trends, developing sources that provide exclusives, acquiring and analyzing data, and making constant open-records requests. Taking photos and recording audio will be part of the job.
Oklahoma Watch is a nonprofit, nonpartisan news group that produces in-depth and investigative content on public-policy issues, often focusing on the poor and disadvantaged. Our offices are at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Salary and benefits are competitive.
