Job Description:  Oklahoma Watch, a nonprofit media organization, is seeking an enterprise editor to help manage a small but growing team of staff reporters and freelance writers to produce investigative and in-depth stories and multimedia on important issues. Oklahoma Watch is a nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) organization that distributes stories to about 100 news outlets around the state and posts its content at oklahomawatch.org. We cover topics such as education, health care, mental health, corrections, criminal justice, poverty, government and public money. Candidates should have at least five years of line-editing and management experience, strong news judgment and excellent word-editing skills. Working with the executive editor, the enterprise editor will lead reporters to dig for stories that hold public officials and systems accountable and uncover revealing facts and trends. He or she will also take a lead in expanding use of social media, audio, video and data journalism. The editor will be expected to do some reporting and work with college journalism interns. The position will be based at Oklahoma Watch’s main offices located at the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication in Norman.
