Job Description: The Stillwater News Press seeks an experienced journalist for managing editor in one of the newsiest communities in Oklahoma and home to Oklahoma State University.
Our managing editor directs news coverage for our six-day print publication, a quarterly lifestyle magazine, our growing website, mobile content and related social media sites.
The managing editor oversees a staff of eight journalists and is a member of the senior management team, with a strong voice in strategic initiatives.
Applicants should have a solid background in newsroom management and versatile skills that include writing, editing and strong story planning. Also essential is the ability to train the staff in core print and digital journalism skills. We expect our managing editor to be passionate about producing quality local news and sports content.
