Public Information Officer
Murray State College
Based on qualifications/experience
Keep the public informed through regular releases about the college’s services, mission, accomplishments, future development plans, students and staff. Be authoritative in desktop publishing, utilizing contemporary hardware and software to produce brochures, publicity, promotional material, news stories and ads.
Be responsible for production of all written material to be used by Public Information and Outreach in fulfilling their missions as determined by the Vice President of Student Affairs. Put together a public relations vehicle for distribution on campus and for mailing to friends and supporters of the college; maintain and update as necessary the newspaper mailing list.
Originate monthly feature stories that focus on a particular program, division or college organization and sent to appropriate news media. Work closely with the Outreach Coordinator in recruiting plans and serve in his/her place on campus when necessary. Report regularly to the Vice President of Student Affairs.
