Services for Ida K. Roberts, longtime owner and publisher of the Fairfax Chief, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Hunsaker-Wootn Funeral Home, 201 N 4th St, Fairfax, OK 74637, with burial in the Fairfax Cemetery.
Roberts died Nov. 13, 2015 in Muskogee. She was 68.
She was born April 10, 1947, in Shidler. After retiring from a 29 year career with the federal government, Roberts went to work at the Fairfax Chief in 1996. She bought the weekly newspaper in 2001.
She is survived by her daughters, Carrie Short and husband Jeremy of Tahlequah, and Roxanne Dixon and husband Ricky, of Shawnee; two brothers, Joe Conner and wife Carol, of Fairfax and Mike Conner, of Hurley, N.M.; and five grandchildren.
