State Issues Reporter

Job Description: Oklahoma Watch, a nonprofit media organization, is seeking an investigative reporter who can produce ground-breaking coverage of significant state issues, government and politics. The position is to be based at the Oklahoma State Capitol.
The reporter should have several years of professional experience and an ability to report on complex topics and grasp and explain the larger context of issues. He or she should be adept at tackling long-form stories and developing reliable sources on all sides of the political aisles. The job requires digging for revealing news and trends, generating exclusives, acquiring and analyzing data, and aggressively pursuing public records. Taking photos and simple video and recording audio will be part of the job.
Oklahoma Watch is a nonprofit, nonpartisan online news publication that produces in-depth and investigative content on public-policy issues, often focusing on the poor and disadvantaged. Our offices are at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Salary and benefits are competitive.
